About Me!

GRACE FUGER

I was born and raised in a small town in Idaho, where my dreams took root and ambitions began to take flight. Now, as a junior at Idaho Falls High School and graduating in 2025, I'm excited for the next chapter in my life.

I have been passionate about volleyball since the 5th grade. Playing as a libero/DS, I've learned the value of resilience, teamwork, and dedication. Ever since I was young, my dream of playing college volleyball has been a major driver in both my athletic and academic pursuits.

I believe in the power of hard work, dedication, and joy. Whether it's on the court, in the classroom, or everyday life, if you're doing something without joy, it's hardly worth doing.

I've been incredibly fortunate to have great role models and coaches who've inspired me. They've shown me the importance of being a guiding light for others, a role I aspire to embody as I move forward. The advice I've gathered over the years is unanimous: success comes from hard work, rigorous training, and relentless studying. With this advice in my heart, I've committed myself to my studies and volleyball training, aiming to realize my big dreams.

Outside of sports, I love trying new things, laughing, and spending quality time with friends and family. These moments of joy and relaxation are just as vital to my growth as any training session or study hour. I've set my sights on majoring in marketing and business, fields that spark my curiosity and match my outgoing and dedicated spirit.

My journey to playing college volleyball began with a dream and became a reality through perseverance and support. Attending numerous camps and showcases, I took every opportunity to be noticed. My commitment to Baylor University marks one of the most amazing moments of my life. Supported by my family and coaches, I attended a Baylor volleyball camp without expectations, only to be thrilled by the entire experience—from stepping onto the campus to earning the MVP award at the camp. Just three months later, during my official visit, I committed to Baylor, a decision that felt like destiny unfolding. This whole experience is anchored in my favorite Bible verse: Proverbs 3:5-6, reminding me to trust in God's plan and path for my life.

As I look forward to joining Baylor University, I carry with me not just the skills and knowledge I've gained but also the hopes and dreams of my small-town beginnings. I aim to inspire others and use my platform to spread joy and the importance of hard work, embodying the values instilled in me by my role models and coaches. My journey is a testament to the belief that with hard work, dedication, and a bit of joy, anything is possible.
