Mentality Tips /Advice

-
CONSISTENTLY DO YOUR PHYSICAL THERAPY

-
Always tell yourself "when I get better" instead of "if I get better" to maintain a positive attitude. You WILL be the same athlete again, actually BETTER!!

-
Celebrate the small victories and progress, no matter how minor they seem. With labrum recovery, you see small progress each week. Make sure you self reflect.

-
Understand that the healing process takes time. Focus on the present and what you can control rather than worrying about the future.

-
One of the most frustrating things about recovery is that it can make you feel so powerless. You can control how you manage your recovery by making conscious decisions on when to rest and when to push yourself.

-
Stay engaged in your sport by coaching or observing practices/games to stay mentally connected. When I was recovering I coached and I saw massive gains from this when I was able to play again.
Recovery Must Haves
(For when you have to sleep upright for the first couple of weeks)
(Forms to your shoulder + heat helps gain ROM back)
(Gel ice pack that is sort of weighted and can form fit any area)
(In case you don't have a comfortable place to sleep upright for the first couple weeks)
(Good for recovery and pin pointing pressure points for relief)
(This product was my savior. It made it comfortable to sleep on my side again. It helped me sleep with no pain)
